2023 Akita Prefecture
Heavy Rainfall Disaster
On July 14, 2023, widespread heavy rainfall caused damage throughout Akita Prefecture. Even more than a month after the disaster, various regions in Akita Prefecture still bear significant scars.
Donations generated from the sale of NFTs in this project will be transferred to the "Akita Prefecture Heavy Rainfall Disaster Relief Fund," managed by the social welfare corporation Akita Prefecture Joint Fundraising Association.
About the NFT Design
In collaboration with LA artist Tetsuzo Okubo, we're offering NFTs through 'NFT for Recovery' to aid Akita's flood recovery efforts.
For this design, we have opted for a background color closely aligned with the symbolic color of Akita Prefecture. We have also incorporated "Smile-kun," a character that has been dearly loved by many of our customers since the early days of A Love Movement. Additionally, we have included beautiful "eyelashes," reminiscent of the beauty of Akita, into the conventional design.
We aim to bring smiles back to Akita as soon as possible.

Designer
'A LOVE MOVEMENT PROJECT' is a recycling brand founded in Los Angeles in 2002 by Tetsuzo Okubo, with 'Happy, Enjoy, Sustainable' as its key themes. Okubo, who started his career as a designer for major domestic brands in Japan in the late '80s and moved to the U.S. in the mid-'90s, opened a vintage shop called 'momo' in Los Angeles. He has served as a cultural bridge between Japan and LA, introducing vintage items and new designer brands to Japan. Leveraging his experience as a buyer and designer, he founded the brand in 2002.
His initial products like remade cashmere jerseys and hoodies gained industry attention for their innovative design concepts and were even featured in the LOUIS VUITTON members-only salon in Omotesando, Tokyo. In Los Angeles, besides being sold in Okubo's own 'momo' store, the brand has been a staple for nearly 20 years at 'Maxfield,' a store frequented by many celebrities and artists.
While the brand is best known for its remade cashmere products, it has also engaged in various collaborations with artists. They have worked with contemporary artists like HAROSHI, Yuta Hosokawa of READYMADE, Dr. Romanelli, AMIRI, and Damien Hirst to create works that blend art and fashion.

FAQ
Q: The price is set at $10, so how much ETH should I hold in Ethereum?
A: As the price of crypto assets fluctuates daily, we can't provide an exact number. Please refer to domestic exchanges, CoinGecko, or Coin Market Cap for current prices. We recommend holding around $30 worth of ETH to account for the gas fees during minting and for transferring from an exchange to your wallet.
Q: Is it okay to sell the NFT on secondary markets like OpenSea at a price higher than the purchase price?
A: Yes, that is possible. For details on how to list, please check the official OpenSea website.
Q: Is support for the disaster-affected areas in Akita Prefecture limited to the sale of this NFT?
A: The next steps depend on the total number of NFTs minted. Once the details for the next initiatives are decided, they will be announced on the Crypto Times' social media accounts and official website.
